2020 Executive Team

YHCC is an entirely student-run competition. The 2020 executive team has worked all year with our corporate sponsors and Yale University to deliver a  memorable and educational experience for attendees. 

Tori Tan

Case Competition Co-Chair

Tori is a second year Health Care Management student at the Yale School of Public Health. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2018 with a major in Molecular & Cell Biology and a minor in Political Economy. She is interested in working in on marketing or strategy in the life sciences industry after graduation.

Saranya Govindaraju

Case Competition Co-Chair

Saranya is a second-year MPH student. Prior to graduate school, she worked for two years as a scientist in preclinical drug research and development for major pharmaceutical clients. She graduated with a B.S. from The University of Pittsburgh, with a major in Biology. After spending her summer internship at Compass Strategic Consulting working in market access and drug pricing, she is interested in pursuing a career in this industry.  

Daniel Benner

Case Director

Daniel is a first year MBA student. Prior to graduate school, he worked for five years at BluePrint Research Group, a consultancy that specialized in market research and commercialization strategy for pipeline pharmaceuticals, helping manufactures understand how their products will fit into rapidly evolving treatment paradigms. He is interested in facilitating collaboration to accelerate scientific discovery and making its fruits accessible to society. He graduated with a B.A. in the History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Chicago.

Rebecca Schwarz

Case Director

Becca is a first-year Health Policy student at the Yale School of Public Health. Before returning to school, she worked for three years in healthcare communications, providing public relations support to pharmaceutical companies and later to global and national nonprofit organizations; she hopes to pair her professional background with her growing knowledge of health policy to improve coverage and address health disparities, particularly in the reproductive health space. Becca graduated from Wellesley College in 2016, where she majored in sociology and minored in economics. 


Logistics Director

Weiyue is a first year MPH student in Chronic Disease Epidemiology. Before coming to Yale, she worked as a cardiac surgeon for three years in China. Aside from clinical experience, she has participated in laboratory and epidemiological research on cardiovascular disease. She graduated with an M.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a major in clinical medicine. Her interest is in improving healthcare outcomes through data analysis and decision making.


Sponsorship Director

Jake graduated from Georgetown University in 2013 with a degree in Psychology and Honors Spanish. He subsequently worked for Capital One Financial for 6 years, focusing on how to better deliver banking products and services in a digital-first world. Most recently, he worked as Chief of Staff for Capital One Bank’s Contact Centers, focusing on servicing strategy design and optimizing team performance. Jake is currently pursuing an MBA with the intention of transitioning into the Healthcare industry that, like Financial Services, is rapidly changing in response to new technologies and societal conditions.  


Marketing and Communications Director

Raymond is a dual MBA/MAM student at Yale. He took up his MBA from the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines where he originally came from. Before pursuing his Master’s education, he worked for an oil refining company for four and a half years as a process engineer. He graduated with a BS Chemical Engineering from Bicol University. He is interested in working in management consulting after graduation focusing in the manufacturing and energy sectors.
